Three Ways to Learn TBM Telugu Through English
Three Ways to Learn TBM Telugu Through EnglishMany learners of English learning Telugu through English will also have a strong desire to understand how the words are pronounced in the native language. There are several ways to convey this information to yourself or to a family member. The first way is to listen to what is being said in English. This will give you a basic impression of how to pronounce the word. Many students will have a lot of trouble with the pronunciation and may be confused when the professor is trying to communicate with them. This is just one of the many reasons why the native speaker will be better at the learning process. The second way is to watch television. By watching television, you will be able to visualize how the words sound like in the native language. The teachers are doing a great job with this one, although most people think it is tedious. But you don't have to be an actor or extra hard to understand English pronunciation. There is another, more inter active way of learning English through the tones of the spoken words. You will find this method on the video tapes, books and DVDs of TBM Telugu. This method has the advantage of being able to listen and repeat words which means you can actually memorize the pronunciation. The third way is to learn the TBM Telugu through English on the Internet. Many websites that offer this service offer videos. Some of these videos will also include audio materials. The pronunciation will sound very authentic and this way of learning will be a lot more realistic.Another method of learning by watching and listening to TBM Telugu is to use a device such as an MP3 player. By holding the device in front of you, you will have an approximation of how the words will sound like. This is a much better option if you are a beginner because you can learn the pronunciation by simply watching. It is also a good option for people who may have trouble concentrating because of visual distraction.Another way to lear n TBM Telugu is by choosing a series of audio recordings. Many of these have audio and visual materials. This method is the most convenient and less distracting. But do not forget to change the volume of the recording or you will distract yourself with images and sounds.

An Introverts Guide to Beating Imposter Syndrome - Introvert Whisperer
Introvert Whisperer / An Introvertâs Guide to Beating Imposter Syndrome - Introvert Whisperer An Introvertâs Guide to Beating Imposter Syndrome Have you ever felt like a fraud in the workplace? Like at any moment, your boss or colleagues might walk over to your desk, tap you on the shoulder and tell you theyâve finally realized youâre not qualified for the job? If so, youâre not alone. About 70% of people feel the same, grappling with a feeling named imposter syndrome, according to a 2011 study published in the International Journal of Behavioral Science. Psychology Today defines imposter syndrome as âa psychological term referring to a pattern of behavior where people doubt their accomplishments and have a persistent, often internalized fear of being exposed as a fraud.â Imposter syndrome may also bring with it symptoms such as: Fear of failure Routinely downplaying your strengths and achievements, and instead seeing them as over-estimated or exaggerated by others Attributing your accomplishments to circumstantial factors, such as âI just got luckyâ Overworking in attempt to compensate for perceived deficits At some point in our lives, many of us will experience imposter syndrome. However, it may be more common for introverts than it is for extroverts. Introverts tend to be their own worst critics. Theyâre often inclined to distrust external effects and will downplay or ignore outside feedback, regardless of how positive or effusive, in favor of their own self-critiques. With that said, it may be the case that introverts are more sensitive to negative feedback, which only serves to perpetuate their already strict self-standards. If left to their own devices, introverts can self-reflect themselves into their inner critic status and develop imposter syndrome while there. Even people who have achieved spectacular feats have encountered feelings of imposter syndrome. Actress Emma Watson, a self-confessed introvert, once told Vogue, âWhen I was younger, I just did it. I just acted. It was just there. So now when I receive recognition for my acting, I feel incredibly uncomfortable. I tend to turn in on myself. I feel like an impostor. It was just something I did.â If these symptoms of imposter syndrome feel all too familiar, here are a few tips to overcome them: Talk About It Introverts tend to keep their thoughts and feelings to themselves, but discussing your case of imposter syndrome with others can help to normalize your feelings. Start small and confide in a close friend or family member. You may also find it helpful and comforting to join a support group or online organization specific to introverts. They may be able to relate to your feelings and provide you with some tips to set you in the right direction. Practice Self-Care A great way to overcome the symptoms of imposter syndrome is by dedicating time in your day to mental health. Practice positive affirmations: replace any doubts or negativity with a positive statement until this becomes the default pathway in your brain. Keep your brain and body in peak condition with good quality sleep, nutrients, hydration, exercise, and mindfulness. Accept Your Imperfections If youâre constantly seeking perfection, youâll never reach it, and youâll always believe youâre a fraud. If youâre going for perfect all the time, it may well be someone elseâs version of perfect. Make sure youâre living for your own unique fulfillment. It can be beneficial to create a vision board, which is a collage of images and words representing your personal wishes or goals to serve as inspiration or motivation. Appreciate Your Accomplishments This is the big one â" you got to where you are now because of your own accomplishments. This may be hard to realize, or even accept, but itâs so important. The opportunities you said yes to, the choices you made, the knowledge youâve learned, and the time youâve dedicated all got you to where you are currently in life. Write down all your successes to date on a piece of paper. Then, write down all the things you did to get there and stick it somewhere as a daily reminder of everything youâve accomplished. Imposter syndrome may be difficult to deal with, but introverts can rest easy knowing that youâre not alone. Have you ever experienced imposter syndrome? What are your techniques for dealing with it? Some Times Who You Are Authentically Dictates Your Best Path - Introvert Whisperer
Introvert Whisperer / Some Times Who You Are Authentically Dictates Your Best Path - Introvert Whisperer Some Times Who You Are Authentically Dictates Your Best Path Have you ever noticed that there is never just one way to solve a problem to get to a goal? Granted, I think there are oftentimes solutions that are considered âstandardâ but we all know that when you give it more thought, there are alternatives. Itâs easy to fall into the trap of taking a path that most people go simply to save a few brain cells coming up with something different. The problem with taking the road most other people take is that it may not be the best road for you. As an introvert, Iâve had to devise alternative strategies to many situations to ensure the kind of outcome I wanted in order to avoid a world of discomfort. I call them âalternativeâ because with such things like networking, I had to do it in a way that worked with my personality â" or said another way â" âhow I functionâ. The alternative is due to the fact that the standard approach to things like networking didnât work for me so a different route was taken. Your career and each day at work is a series of challenges met by solutions. When youâre stumped, a good thing to do is to see how other people solve those same issues. Iâd say thatâs a pretty good approach. However, youâll also notice that sometimes a solution for one person is not a solution for you or you try their solution and discover it didnât work. When you have poor results or even failure trying something that worked so well for someone else, it hurts your self-esteem. It can leave you feeling like there is something wrong with you. I get it; Iâve had those reactions. I have found, however, that your career (and your life) is not a âone-size-fits-allâ and what works for someone else may not work for you or me. There is no need to let your self-esteem get damaged. Find another way. If you have a challenge in your career you need to know there is a solution. In fact, thereâs more than one solution or path to a satisfying conclusion. Your job is to forge a path that works well for you. Go to top Do you know what your next career step is? Play Thousands of Songs Using these Guitar Chord Progressions
Play Thousands of Songs Using these Guitar Chord Progressions Megan L. Did you know there are a handful of common guitar chord progressions that are repeatedly used throughout hundreds of songs? If youve spent much time on YouTube, you might be familiar with the Axis of Awesome. In their popular video, the Axis of Awesome performs a compilation of around 50 songs in under six minutes, all while using the same guitar chord progression. The video is very entertaining as it creatively reveals a secret that professional musicians have known for decades. Guitar Chord Progressions to Play Thousands of Songs Although most popular songs are based on just a handful of guitar chord progressions, sometimes the chords are modified (adding a 7th or 9th for example). They can also be played in a different order, or using different instruments and grooves. So to the untrained ear it may be hard to detect the same underlying chord structure. Once you understand how the most common guitar chord progressions work, it will open the door for you to play thousands of songs easily. Lets start by learning about some of the most basic guitar chords. 5 Basic Guitar Chords If youre just getting started on the guitar, youll want to learn a few basic chords first. The chord charts below show five of the most common open chords. Open chords are chords where some of the strings are played open, without holding down any of the frets. To read the chord charts, imagine that the top line of the chart is the nut, where the neck of the guitar meets the headstock. Each of the six vertical lines represent a guitar string, with the low E string at the far left and high E at the far right. Each horizontal line represents a different fret on the fretboard. The numbers along the bottom of the chart let you know which finger on your left hand should fret each string. Your left hand fingers are numbered one through four, starting with your index finger. For example, to play the A chord as pictured above, hold down the D string with your middle finger on the second fret, the G string with your ring finger on the second fret, and the B string with your pinkie finger on the second fret. Now, strum from the A string down. The X at the top of the diagram indicates that you should not strum the low E string. Understanding Guitar Chord Progressions A chord progression is a pattern of usually three or four chords that is repeated throughout a song. Some songs use a couple different guitar chord progressions, switching back and forth for the verse and the chorus. You might find other songs that use a single chord progression the whole way through. Many musicians use what is known as the Nashville System to talk about chord progressions. For example, lets look at the common chord progression C-F-G, also known as I-IV-V in C. On the Nashville number system, each note in the scale is given a number one through seven, written as a Roman numeral. The root note of the scale is I. In our example, C is I, the root note. F is the fourth note in the scale, IV, and G is the fifth, V. The Nashville system encourages musicians to focus more on the relationships between notes rather than the notes themselves. This is particularly helpful if you are playing with a singer or another musician and they ask you to change the key you are playing. Rather than scrambling to transpose the song, using your familiarity with the relationships between guitar notes, you can quickly and easily switch keys. I-IV-V Chord Progressions Common guitar chord progressions like G-C-D, A-D-E, and E-A-B are all examples of the I-IV-V chord progression in action. So the next time you are looking at a song and you see one of these sequences, you will know you are looking at a I-IV-V chord progression. The I-IV-V chord progression forms the foundations of countless classic songs and contemporary favorites. According to Ultimate Guitar, the I-IV-V progression, with slight variations, can be used to play the following songs: Imagine by John Lennon or Everybody Talks by Neon Trees (I-IV) The Gambler by Kenny Rogers or Where Everybody Knows Your Name from Cheers (I-V) Basket Case by Green Day or Youre Beautiful by James Blunt (I-IV-V-I) All the Small Things by Blink-182 or Born This Way by Lady Gaga (I-V-IV-I) I-V-vi-IV Chord Progressions Want to learn to play all the songs from the Axis of Awesome video we shared about? Just get familiar with the I-V-vi-IV chord progression and you will have all 50 songs (and many more) in the bag! You can play all the songs from the video using the chord progression C-G-Am-F, plus: Journeys Dont Stop Believing Jason Mrazs Im Yours The Beatles Let It Be ii-V-I Chord Progressions These progressions are commonly seen in jazz standards, though they do creep into pop songs from time to time. Using an ii-V-I progression, such as Dm-G-C, you can play songs ranging from the jazz favorite Autumn Leaves to Justin Biebers Boyfriend. SEE ALSO: Easy Guitar Tabs to Play Now Practicing Guitar Chord Progressions Now that you are familiar with the most common guitar chord progressions, memorizing the chord patterns and practicing will help you get to the point where you can easily learn hundreds of songs. If youre just starting out on the guitar, changing from one chord to another quickly and smoothly might be challenging for you. Choose a chord progression and practice strumming each chord slowly and evenly for four counts. Try to keep your transitions on tempo with the pace you are playing. Once you feel comfortable changing chords, try playing one song in a few different keys. As you play, sing or hum along to hear the difference. Try playing Amazing Grace as pictured above in the key of C and then move it to the key of G. Changing keys helps you to hear the relationships between notes, which makes it easier for you to develop your ear. Write Songs of Your Own Another great way to apply these guitar chord progressions is in writing your own songs. Dont feel like you have to use only these chords. Instead, use them as a starting point to explore your musical vision. If youre just beginning to write your own music, it helps to know which chords will sound good together. Try taking one of the tried and true chord progressions youve just learned and put your own spin on it by adding or subbing a new chord, or playing it with a funky rhythm. In any other case, a tourist visa should suffice. The student visa can only be issued by the Italian consulate (or by the consulate section of the Italian embassy), depending on the territory of the country of residence that you are applying to the visa from. It will be helpful at this point if you have started to learn to speak some Italian phrases, as you will most likely encounter only Italian speakers throughout this process.Whether you are applying to a student or tourist visa, it is important that each candidate acquire these documents:A valid passport of at least 3 monthsA round-trip plane ticket (or other method of transport) that is attesting to the start and end date of your journeyProof of sufficient financial means for your stay in ItalyConfirmation of a hotel or other lodgingsHealth insuranceAll of these documents should validate your study visa, as well as the document attesting to your acceptance into a particular study program. Learn to understand administrative phrases, as they will go a long way in your communication with the Italian consulates during every step of the application process.LodgingFinding accommodation in Italy should not be too painstaking of a process, as there are a lot of different options depending on each personâs lifestyle. If you are studying abroad, you will have a very important option at your disposal, which is: student housing. Talk to your advisors at your home school and your future, Italian university in order to revie w the options for student housing. While every university normally has a limited space for foreign students, you shouldnât have a problem attaining one if you allow plenty of time for the application process. If you would like to live outside of a student residence, one solution is to find an apartment or a flat share. In Italy, landlords and roommates often require a month of rent as commission, and between 1 and 3 months rent worth of security deposit. You should make sure to include this into your monthly budget. For example, a studio in a big city like Rome can cost you between 400 and 600 euros a month.InsuranceThe first step you should take for finding health insurance in Italy is to look into the European insurance card â" which is free and valid for one year. This will allow you, while you are a European student, to benefit from some free treatments. The next step is to sign up for the Azienda Sanitaria Locale. Functioning similar to a national security service, becoming pa rt of this will allow you to benefit from treatments like locals.Financial Aid for Learning ItalianConcerning finances in general, it is worth noting that while Italy tends to be cheaper than the UK, the cost of living is about the same. Tuition fees, normally between 1000 and 1300 euros on average, should be taken into account in conjunction with about 1000 euros worth of monthly expenses. While this may sound like a lot of money, learning how to speak foreign language doesnât have to be pricey. If you are worried that your quest in taking Italian courses will not be financially possible for you, there are some scholarship programs that exist for international students. These include programs such as the Erasmus scholarship. There are many students who are empowered to study because of this scholarship, which aims to facilitate the cost burdens of studying abroad and taking language courses. The Minister of Foreign Affairs also has some scholarships geared towards students studying abroad and is worth checking out. These types of scholarships, awarded by the Italian government, can reach up to 700 euros a month. The scholarship is, at its core, a research scholarship, destined towards foreign students who study specific disciplines.Take advantage of conversational practice in Italian to improveResources for Italian OnlineBefore departing for Italy, it might be helpful for both the new and experienced language learner to understand that fluency in a language will depend on the level of immersion within the language and culture. There are many online classes that are at your disposal to practice your conversational Italian speaking skills before you start your journey. If youâre worried about what life will be like as a local, there are also many sites online that aim to give advice and information for people who are moving to Italy. Whether youâre looking for professional opportunities or more information on your study abroad, be sure to check out:The websit e for the UKâs foreign affairsThe site for European Health InsuranceCultural institutes of Italy in the UKWhile completing all of these tasks may seem discouraging in the face of what you thought you would be doing on your stay in Italy, namely all the adventures and foods youâd be having, understanding what kinds of administrative tasks you will need to complete will help you later on. Ultimately, completing all of these tasks beforehand will help you profit from la dolce vita once youâre there!

Promoting a Growth Mindset
Promoting a Growth Mindset My previous post discussed strategies for teaching Growth Mindset principles to your child. And while this is an important first step, the real power comes in reminding your child of these principles and promoting them on a day to day basis. Helping your child develop a Growth Mindset involves first making sure that he or she has the tools and strategies that he or she needs in order to be successful, and then remind your child that when he or she pairs these strategies with hard work and persistence he or she can grow their brains and become better at anything that he or she puts their mind to. When it comes to making sure your child has access to strategies and tools that work for him or her, I recommend setting up a meeting with your childs teacher. Find out which areas they think your child needs to improve in the most, and what suggestions they have for accelerating this improvement. If your childs teacher suggests that your child receive additional help outside the classroom, then seek out additional learning services at school or in an after-school learning or tutoring program. Also, ask for suggestions about what you can do at home each week to help your child improve. When your child is trying out new strategies and working on things that are hard for him or her, encourage a Growth Mindset by taking the following steps: Remind your child that when he or she works hard they are growing their brain. When we lift weights our muscles grow stronger. We know they are stronger because over time it becomes easier to lift heavier weights. Remind your child that when we challenge our brains by working on things that are hard for us, our brains get stronger too. We know theyre getting stronger because math problems, books, and writing assignments that were hard for us become easier over time. And we get more answers correct the first time around. Praise Growth Mindset goals. When your child is working hard, tie your praise to our Growth Mindset goals. Praise your child for stepping up to a challenge, trying out new strategies, working hard, and improving. Overall, youll be most successful at fostering a Growth Mindset when you focus your praise on your childs process rather than on your childs grades and achievement. Counter Fixed Mindset thoughts with Growth Mindset alternatives. When kids are frustrated they are likely to have a whole host of Fixed Mindset thoughts that get in the way. When they voice these thoughts, try to come up with Growth Mindset alternatives that can help your child think differently about his or her situation. Your child may not seem too receptive in the moment, especially if he or she is feeling very frustrated. But over time, your child will hear you and will start to come up with these Growth Mindset alternatives on his or her own. Here are some examples to help you get started: Fixed Mindset: I always make mistakes!Growth Mindset: When we correct our mistakes, we grow our brains. Fixed Mindset: I cantGrowth Mindset: You havent done it yet! Fixed Mindset: This stuff is easy for other kids.Growth Mindset: With new strategies and practice it will become easier for you too. Helping your child develop a Growth Mindset will take time. After all, your child has probably been living with a Fixed Mindset for years. Be persistent and look for small, gradual improvements. Mindsets are fluid, so dont be surprised if sometimes your child is able to maintain Growth Mindset and other times he or she is firmly stuck in a Fixed Mindset. The goal is to help your child spend more time in a Growth Mindset framework than he or she was able to in the past. Over time, his or her motivation and self-esteem will improve, and youll notice that he or she is more willing to take risks and step up to challenges at school and in life. ABOUT DR. Changes to the AP World History Course
Changes to the AP World History Course If you donât follow the raging academic and educational debates of the day, you may be unaware that the AP World History course (or WHAP as we call it), has changed. Through last May, the test covered content spanning prehistory all the way until the present, over 10,000 years of history! There was frequent student and teacher feedback to the College Board that this was way too much information to cover in one school year. So, in the summer of 2018, the College Board announced they would be changing the start date of the content to 1450 CE. This then caused quite the debate. You see the AP European History test has a start date of 1450 CE, and arguably history from 1450 CE onwards is pretty much Europe slowly, and then more quickly, taking over much of the rest of the world. Also the students would miss several of the great empires that arose in the Middle East, South America, Asia and Africa that all had significant impacts on world history. For much of the summer of 2018 there wer e scathing Twitter threads, blog posts and beyond made by academics and teachers from all over. They all complained about the Eurocentrism (the focus on Europe interacting with the rest of the world) of the new proposed start date. So the College Board reexamined things, and came back that they were going to switch the start date for WHAP to 1200 CE. So much to the partial relief of all, the course now covers the height of the Silk Road, the Mongol Empire, various Islamic Caliphates and the rise of some of the western hemisphere empires. It is still a controversial decision, since it leaves out the origins of most of the worldâs religions and skips over fascinating ancient civilizations. We will have to see what happens moving forward. What does this mean for a student who is taking WHAP? To begin with the official name of the course is now AP World History: Modern. Next, the textbook companies and teachers have been scrambling to put materials together to fit the new path of the course. Also, a number of the teachers are still teaching some of the history that happens before 1200 CE, as not only is having some of the background helpful, but not all the textbooks have been updated. This means that the content from around 1200 CE is mixed in with content from 1000 CE or earlier in some books. Luckily WHAP tutors here at AJ are trained in not only the current content of the course, but also former content of the course. This means that a WHAP tutor would be able to help support a student through the confusion of the AP test change and help them succeed in their WHAP class! Weâve also spent the summer updating our WHAP test preparation materials so that they reflect the changes, so we will be able to help a WHAP student prepare in the spring for the AP test. The one other point to note is that while the College Board has updated the date range of their AP World History course, they have NOT updated the date range of the World History SAT Subject test. This test still covers all of human history, so WHAP students will be missing a good 8,000 or more years of content that appears on the SAT subject test. Typically we recommend that if a student has taken the AP class in a history subject, it is worth them possibly taking the SAT subject test in that history subject (there is a US History subject test and a World History subject test). This will no longer be the case for students who take WHAP, unless they are willing to do significant content review first. But guess what, AJ WHAP tutors can help with that too! We are currently putting together a plan for new WHAP students that want to try the World History SAT Subject test, and it will be ready in the spring when most of the new WHAP students will be thinking of taking the test.If youâd like to talk through your specific situation, make a plan, and get connected to a history test preparation expert, please reach out to us.
